Difference between time and duration

You may have wondered at one point or another why GymYou differentiates between time and duration and what is meant by that.

Duration means the complete duration for which you have performed an exercise.
So if it took you 6 minutes to complete a 5 sets exercise, the 6 minutes is the duration. With some exercises, however, it also makes sense to record the time of a set too. For example, if you’re doing an interval cardio exercise on the treadmill, you might have done 5 sets of 200m in a given time per set.

This time per set is called ‘time’ in GymYou, while the duration of the complete exercise, all 5 sets together, is called ‘duration’.
The time per set is always shown directly on the set, while the current duration is shown in the stopwatch at the top.

It is also worth noting that the duration is independent of the time per set. It’s just a stopwatch that keeps running.
